With a Master’s Degree in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies, and graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Cognitive Science from Rice University, you can call Jessica Hartstein in Houston a Word Nerd. I strive for excellence in everything I do as a translator interpreter in Houston. I am extremely honored to be certified by the American Translator's Association as a Certified Translator for Spanish into English and French into English translations. As of 2018, I am the only Spanish Master Licensed Court Interpreter in Houston who is ATA-Certified for both Spanish into English and French into English translations.
I have worked as a full-time, in-house translator in the marketing field in Luxembourg, as well as in the Oil and Gas industry in Houston (Technip’s Dragon and Patao Project with PDVSA). As such, I have gained a wide variety of translation experience, including translating website content, web articles, online marketing materials, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, as well as engineering documents for all FEED engineering disciplines, to name a few. Additionally, when I focused on the medical and social services fields, I was lucky enough to be one of the busiest interpreters in Houston. That experience is where I truly honed my professional interpreting skills.
Born and raised in Minnesota, snow feels like home, and while I left at 18 to attend Rice University here in Houston, a little bit of my heart is still at home. As a Rice alumna, I am proud to be an Owl, and determined to never stop learning! Needless to say, the Snowy Owl feels like a great description of me!
